  • Steph is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) who is passionate about bringing holistic, trauma-informed nutrition care to her clients. She holds a Bachelor of Dietetics (Honours) from the University of the Sunshine Coast and has accumulated valuable experience working in private practice and private hospitals over the years.

    Steph has completed additional study and is recognised as a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician. Her comprehensive approach considers both physical and psychological aspects of nutrition and aims to empower clients through a non-diet approach.

    In addition to working with eating disorder, she has several years’ experience working in a specialised gastroenterology clinic. Through evidence-based interventions and a patient-centred approach, she assists clients in managing a range of gastrointestinal concerns. Stephanie understands the intricate relationship between diet and gut health, empowering her clients to make informed dietary choices that alleviate symptoms and improve overall well-being.

    In her spare time, Steph is always keen to try something new, whether that's a new recipe in the kitchen, a new travel location or going to the newest restaurant.

  • Bethany (she/her) is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) passionate about empowering people to improve their relationship with food and eating. Through her own experience with an eating disorder, Bethany understands the difficulties and complexities that arise when trying to adequately fuel the body.

    She believes that health is more than just the food you eat and the number on the scales, and genuinely seeks to support and journey with individuals to discover this for themselves.

    Bethany strives to create an open, supportive, and collaborative environment in which individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings around food and rebuild self-trust.

    In her spare time, Bethany enjoys long walks with a coffee in hand, and spending quality time with her loved ones. She is also a keen motorsports and cricket fan, often counting the days between the next big game or race.

Sean Cornish Dietitian
  • Sean (he/him) has been in health for most of his adult life after moving to Brisbane from Melbourne for uni to become a dietitian. While studying, Sean started a Personal Training business and eventually established Your Fit, a studio in Brisbane's northside. He runs that with his wife and team of trainers where the focus is on building healthy habits and sustainable behaviour change with a smile on your face! Life doesn't have to be serious all the time!

    Sean has 2 young daughters and is really passionate about changing the way our culture relates to food and our health. Sean often reflects on his own struggles with weight and food through his teens and really feels for people in this space as the pressure has only increased. Sean is as enthusiastic as he is curious and believes nutrition can be a great tool to build self trust and ultimately provide us with the energy to take on challenges worth taking on.

    In Sean’s down time he is an aspiring athlete in the Just Dance arena, usually counting down the time between fishing trips and runs a few marathons as well.

  • Lacey (she/her) is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Credential Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC). She is passionate about empowering people to improve their relationship with food. Having lived experience of an eating disorder, Lacey understands that for many people nourishing the body and mind can be challenging. She practices with compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to walk alongside you on your journey to improved health and well-being. Lacey uses a Health at Every Size (HAES) and non-diet approach, and believes that food freedom and full recovery is possible for everyone. She aims to create a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings around food and nutrition, offering nutritional education and guidance towards health in a collaborative environment that allows you to overcome your challenges, grow, and thrive.

    Lacey is originally from Los Angeles, California and will happily tell you she moved to Australia “for love”. She has a Bachelor of Health and Nutrition Sciences and a Master of Dietetics from The University of Queensland (UQ), as well as a Bachelor of Environmental Science (from the USA). She has recently been part of a publication in the International Journal of Eating Disorders investigating interprofessional collaborative practice in outpatient eating disorder treatment. In the future, Lacey hopes to continue working in eating disorder and nutrition research as well as in the nutrition education and health promotion areas.

    In her spare time, Lacey loves to spend time with her husband and fur babies. She is a lover of travel, being outdoors, and cooking, as well as practicing and teaching martial arts.

  • Leah Fowler (she/her) is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian who is passionate about personalised nutrition and the importance of diet in mental health through all stages of life. She prides herself on providing evidence-based practice and promotes a holistic and compassionate approach in her dietetic care.

    After graduating from Griffith University and completing a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, she obtained her Credentialing as an Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC) and has worked in private practices, inpatient hospital clinic, and community health care clinics.

    Over time she has developed a particular interest in the area of mental health and the treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating (including ARFID), weight and body image concerns, gastrointestinal conditions, and nutritional deficiencies.

    Leah is a dedicated advocate of the Health at Every Size® (HAES®) movement and practices from a weight inclusive framework promoting improved health behaviours, body image and self-compassion for all population groups regardless of size. When working with clients she supports eating for well-being and encourages flexible eating based on hunger, satiety, nutritional needs and pleasure.

    When she isn’t in the clinic, Leah enjoys weekends away camping or trips to the local markets to enjoy good food, sunshine and live music.

Shane Jeffrey Dietitian
  • Shane (he/him) is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with over 25 years’ experience in both the private and public sectors. During this time he has worked almost exclusively in the field of eating disorders and the broader area of weight and body image concerns, establishing himself as a nationally and internationally recognised expert in the field. Shane is a compassionate and understanding Dietitian, dedicating his career to helping those struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, weight and body image concerns as well as offering sports nutrition support for athletes. Shane provides professional supervision to dietitians, serves on a number of advisory committees, and regularly offers presentations and workshops to health professionals.

    As the founder and clinical director at River Oak Health, Shane is committed to growing the service with a focus on high quality, evidence-based interventions. While Shane maintains a small clinical caseload, he is also passionate about supporting the professional development of multi-disciplinary practitioners in the eating disorder and non-diet space.

    Outside of work Shane is a cyclist and regularly takes part in running events. He also loves getting outdoors, whether it be hiking or camping trips with his family. Shane is a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician and an Accredited Sports Dietitian.

  • Sam (she/her) is a non-diet Accredited Practicing Dietitian who practices through a holistic, weight-neutral lens. Sam believes everyone’s health journey is unique, so she offers individualised nutrition care to guide clients in improving their relationship with food and body, ensure adequate nutrition with variety and balance, reduce disordered eating and eating disorder behaviors, build intuitive eating skills, find enjoyment in food and free up mental space for things that make you happy in life. Sam follows an All-Foods-Fit philosophy and is passionate about empowering others to find food freedom.

    After graduating from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics, Sam has worked in Australia, Canada and the US as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian/ Registered Dietitian managing community food education programs and treating eating disorders in inpatient/residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient levels of care. Sam believes recovery is possible for everyone and takes a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach to compassionately walk alongside clients in their journey.

    Sam’s training as a certified yoga teacher helps to inform her dietetic practice, integrating mindfulness, gratitude, grounding skills and self-compassion. When Sam is not in the clinic or practicing yoga, she spends most of her time doing outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking, snowboarding and camping and also values spending time with family and friends, seeing live music and of course dining out or enjoying home-cooked food.

  • Tabitha (she/her) is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) passionate about helping athletes and dancers achieve peak performance through balanced nutrition. Having trained at an elite level in ballet and currently working as a ballet teacher, she has firsthand experience of the physical and mental demands of high-level training.

    Tabitha is dedicated to empowering dancers and athletes to develop healthier, more sustainable relationships with food, their bodies, and their minds. She strives to create open, honest conversations around nutrition, fuelling, and recovery, helping individuals navigate challenges and cultivate a positive mindset around eating — free from guilt or restriction.

    Her commitment to this field stems from her personal experiences in balancing performance fuelling and a healthy relationship with food. This journey inspires her to help others build trust in their bodies, overcome restrictive mindsets, and establish sustainable habits that nurture both their physical and mental well-being for the long-term. 

    Outside of work, Tabitha is always up for a coffee run, spontaneous Bunnings trips to find new plants, getting creative with arts and crafts, Pilates sessions, Saturday morning Park Run, and most of all, spending time with friends and family.

  • Elizabeth is a clinical social worker specialising in guiding individuals through eating disorder recovery and other co-occurring mental health challenges. Born and raised in New York, Elizabeth received her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan and her Masters of Social Work from New York University before permanently immigrating to Australia in 2022. Elizabeth brings with her into the therapeutic space relevant knowledge and expertise in the treatment of eating disorders as well as her own lived experience with, and fully recovering from, an eating disorder. Through active listening, curiosity, exploration and collaboration, Elizabeth assists individuals in finding freedom from their eating disorder, improving body image, and living a life in line with their identified recovery values.

    Elizabeth has expertise working with adolescents and adults with Anorexia, Bulimia, BED, OSFED, and ARFID. Elizabeth is particularly interested in the intersection between trauma and eating disorders, with experience treating co-morbid PTSD, anxiety and depression. Elizabeth has worked for many years in the private sector offering individual psychotherapy, therapeutic meal support, recovery coaching and facilitating eating disorder skills and support groups.

    Elizabeth creates a warm and compassionate environment in which individuals can feel safe to unpack their harmful beliefs around food and their bodies. She then assists folks in exploring new ways to be in a safe relationship with themselves and finding healthier ways to cope with life’s stressors. Elizabeth believes strongly in rebelling against diet culture, advocating against weight stigma and approaches all work from a health at every size (HAES) lens.

    Outside of practice Elizabeth can be found engaging in mindful movement on the reformer, rewatching Friends for the thousandth time and listening to true crime podcasts.

  • Jaime has been a registered psychologist since 2014 and has extensive experience working within private, inpatient and government sectors. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) (Honours) as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Creative Writing, Literature).

    Jaime’s approach is client centred and works to create a safe and compassionate environment to support the individual to achieve their goals of therapy. She enjoys working with adolescents and adults across a broad range of presenting problems and has a special interest in supporting clients to recover from eating disorders, as well as working with risk related concerns.

    Jaime works collaboratively to fit her therapeutic approach to the client, but is able to provide tailored support using Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and a range of eating disorder modalities including Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM).

  • Michelle (she/her) is a dedicated and empathetic counsellor and mental health nurse with 16 years experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. She is calm, patient, curious and intuitive when working with individuals to help them achieve their goals. Her journey in counselling began with a profound passion for understanding human behaviour and wanting to provide a safe, non-judgemental space for personal growth. Working with a trauma – informed lens she is driven to personalise individual treatments using evidence-based interventions.

    Michelle believes in the power of therapeutic alliances where trust and understanding form the cornerstone of effective therapy. During her sessions she strives to create a collaborative environment where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes. Together there will be an exploration of thoughts, emotions, and behaviour to uncover patterns and develop strategies for a healthier more fulfilling life.

  • Nicola is a registered psychologist passionate about supporting children, adolescents and young adults across a range of mental health conditions, including challenges with eating, anxiety, stress, depression, and neurodiversity.

    Her therapeutic style comprises of compassion, strength-focus, and warmth to understanding and supporting individuals. When working with children, her therapy space embodies fun and playfulness through creative arts, crafts, and play based approaches. Nicola individualises treatment approaches for individuals using evidence-based interventions.

    Nicola studied her bachelor’s of psychological science at the University of Queensland. She completed her registration and training at a clinic for neurodevelopment disorders, receiving supervision with Dr Michelle Garnett and Professor Tony Attwood, leading specialists in the area of neurodevelopmental disorders. She has since worked in both public and private sectors in child and adolescent mental health.

Dr Felicity West Clinical Psychologist
  • Felicity (she/her) has been a psychologist for over 20 years. She has a wealth of experience working with children, parents, and families. She loves meeting new people, and has a warm, friendly approach. In both her work and leisure activities, she draws on her strengths of creativity and playfulness.

    Felicity provides a safe, engaging environment for the people who consult with her. She listens to others with empathy and respect. She takes time to get to know a person, their strengths as well as their challenges. She celebrates diversity and honours each person’s unique view and experience of the world. She approaches therapy with a kind, curious, and open heart, and plenty of humour.

    Felicity is a credentialed eating disorder clinician. She is passionate about reducing weight stigma, breaking free of diet culture, and promoting body positivity. She advocates for a non-diet approach to health. One that emphasises the pleasure and social functions of eating; and the importance of learning how to relate to oneself and others with kindness and compassion. Felicity supports children and adolescents to overcome eating and body image concerns by empowering parents and strengthening family relationships. She also works individually with young people to build their self-efficacy, coping skills, and autonomy.

    Whenever possible, Felicity looks for opportunities to nurture herself with yoga and dance, explorations of nature, delicious food, and playful connection with her children, her family, and her friends.

  • Michelle (she/her) is the Practice Manager at River Oak Health.

    Michelle brings a wealth of experience in the management field that stems from years of working in the child care industry.

    Outside of work, Michelle will often be tucked up with a good book (or two), spending time in the garden with her beloved pet cats and chickens, or hiking on the trails in the bush.

  • Shaylee (she/her) is currently working as an Administrator at River Oak Health.

    At the beginning of 2021, Shaylee began to work towards her dream career of becoming a Clinical Psychologist, by studying a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at Griffith University. In future clinical work, Shaylee is interested in supporting people with various experiences and concerns, including those experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating and body image issues. However, while she works towards this, Shaylee is grateful to work in an environment where she is able to gently assist people through their therapy/recovery journey however she can behind the reception desk at River Oak Health.

    In Shaylee’s spare time, you can find her relaxing by the beach with a book in hand, practising yoga and spending quality time with the people she loves.

  • Laura (she/her) is currently working as an Administrator at River Oak Health. Her work history includes roles working in community services, the entertainment industry and most recently in education. Laura has a special interest in working in the mental health field, born from her time practising as a Social Worker.
